Year 7 Cultural diversity food

Once again a wonderful lesson on Cultural Diversity.  In this lesson we look at foods in other cultures, the change in the influences of food we eat and how food choice has changed dramatically since the days of food rationing.  We also explore seasonal foods and how back in war time how people grew their own vegetables and how allotment gardening is becoming popular again today.

We are also delighted that Tesco have been involved with us in our planning, Sue Brown who coordinates the Community project has supported Windsor Park School with our Food Technology curriculum for the past two years.  Tesco provided the ingredients for students to cook, YuK Sung, a Chinese dish wrapped in lettuce and Chicken Fajitas.

The lesson was assessed for team work, housekeeping, independence and skill.
