The PE Department are off and running already with fixtures coming in thick and fast.  Many competitions have been entered through the East Staffs Schools Sports Partnership, with several standalone Cup competitions in the diary.

The Inter Schools action kicks off with a Y5 & Y6 cross country event at TAHS.  Fixtures are through for the Y7 & Y8 Staffs County football cup and there’s an all middle school tie in the 2nd round of the Y8 Staffs County rugby cup away at Walton Priory.

The Y7 & Y8 Girls have been entered into the East Staffs Netball Leagues again this year where they will play matches against the secondary schools in Burton, as well as Oldfields.  Fixtures start in October and run through to March.

After School Clubs have started, seeing a good uptake by students,

  • with Monday afternoons being Y5 & 6 football run by Burton Albion

  • Tuesdays Y7 & Y8 boys and girls Rugby

  • with Netball on a Wednesday

All students are welcome to attend the sessions, there is no cost, all they need to do is collect and return a registration letter from/to the school office, bring their kit, take part and enjoy.

This year continues to build on the new form of assessment and levelling.  Students have access to all the necessary information which is displayed in the changing rooms. Please talk to your child about this to enhance and assist in the embedding of the information, which in turn will support progress.
